Language Competency Training & Evaluation: ASL & ProTactile
Comprehensive instruction and assessment services for individuals and organizations seeking to build or strengthen fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and ProTactile Language (PT). Services are tailored to the learner's starting point, goals, and context — whether that's a family member learning to communicate with a DeafBlind loved one, an interpreter expanding into ProTactile work, or an organization needing staff competency benchmarks.
Instruction
Individualized or small-group teaching in ASL and/or ProTactile Language, covering foundational vocabulary and grammar through advanced conversational and professional fluency. Curriculum adapts to the learner's role: family communication, workplace interpreting, healthcare/legal settings, or general accessibility.
Skill Improvement
Targeted coaching for existing signers or interpreters looking to refine technique, expand tactile communication range, or transition from visual ASL to ProTactile methods. Includes feedback on receptive and expressive skills.
Evaluation & Assessment
Structured competency evaluations that measure a learner's or professional's proficiency level in ASL and/or ProTactile Language. Results can support certification pathways, workplace readiness determinations, or personal progress tracking. Assessments are conducted by a DeafBlind ProTactile interpreter with direct lived and professional expertise.
